Massage Therapy in Edmonton

Keeping Life in Motion.

Massage Therapy to Help You Move,
Recover & Feel Your Best

Massage therapy can support many different needs, from easing muscle tension and promoting relaxation to addressing discomfort associated with activity, work, or everyday movement.

At Active Health Collective, our Registered Massage Therapists provide personalized massage therapy based on your individual needs, preferences, and goals. Whether you’re looking for a therapeutic treatment, recovering from increased activity, or simply need time to relax, our Edmonton massage therapy team will work with you to determine an appropriate approach.

Massage Therapy Designed Around You

There isn’t one type of massage that’s right for everyone.

Your appointment begins with a conversation about what brings you in, areas you’d like addressed, your treatment preferences, and any relevant health considerations. Your massage therapist can then adapt the treatment based on your needs and comfort level.

Depending on the therapist you see and your individual treatment, techniques available at Active Health Collective may include:

  • Therapeutic massage
  • Swedish relaxation massage
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Cupping
  • Hot stone massage
  • Movement and stretching techniques

Not every technique is provided by every therapist. Visit our practitioner profiles to find the massage therapist whose training and approach best match what you’re looking for.

Why Do People Book Massage Therapy?

People seek massage therapy for many different reasons. For some, it’s part of addressing muscle tension or discomfort. Others use massage therapy to support an active lifestyle, help manage the physical demands of work, or simply create time for relaxation.

Massage therapy may be considered for:

  • Muscle tension and stiffness
  • General aches and discomfort
  • Restricted or uncomfortable movement
  • Activity and exercise-related muscle soreness
  • Work-related muscle tension
  • Relaxation and stress management
  • Supporting recovery following physical activity
  • Maintaining mobility and physical well-being

Your massage therapist will discuss your needs with you before treatment and adapt your appointment accordingly.

What to Expect at Your Massage Therapy Appointment

Your massage therapist will speak with you about your reason for booking, relevant health history, areas of concern, and your goals for the appointment.

This is also the time to discuss your preferences, including pressure, areas you would or would not like treated, and any questions you have.

Your therapist will use techniques appropriate to your needs, preferences, and their professional assessment.

Communication is encouraged throughout the appointment. You can ask for pressure or positioning to be adjusted, request that an area be avoided, or ask questions at any time.

Your therapist may discuss observations from your treatment and provide recommendations appropriate to your individual needs. These could include movement, stretching, self-care, or future treatment considerations.
